Melissa Cee is the Senior Vice President, HR of Retail Financial Services. She is also a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Team, Human Resources Leadership Team and Retail Financial Services Leadership Team.
In her current role, Ms. Cee oversees the human capital functions of Retail Financial Services organization. She provides strategic direction on organizational design, change management, talent management, business growth and training and development ensuring full alignment with TIAA’s business strategy.
Ms. Cee previously served as Executie Vice President of Nuveen Investments for over 3 years and was Vice President, HR Chief of Staff and Head of HR Strategy and Planning. Prior to that she was the Senior Director, HR Relationship Manager, where she provided HR expertise to the Shared Services and Enterprise Integration business areas and their more than 3,000 employees. In that role, Melissa and her team of eight HR provided strategic direction to senior area leaders around talent management, talent acquisition, diversity & inclusion and total rewards.
Prior to joining TIAA in 2010, she served as Director, Human Resources and Administration for Cain Brothers LLC, an investment banking and capital advisory firm. She also spent several years with Merrill Lynch in global human-resources roles, including Director of HR for the global debt markets area. Ms. Cee has more than 25 years of human resources and business experience.
Ms. Cee holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
