Kirk Santos

VP, Global Head of Learning, Leadership & Organizational Development Pitney Bowes

My LL&OD team and I are focused on strong partnerships with the business as a strategic enabler of our transformation.  We not only deliver on the fundamentals that our stakeholders require, but partner with them to address root cause issues they’re seeking to solve.  To do this, we build upon trusted partnerships with each of them to understand what initiatives matter most.  From there, we ask the right questions and together identify solutions that will drive revenue growth and accelerate our transformation.

Prior to joining Pitney Bowes, I developed my 23+ years of cross-industry HR expertise through strategic and diversified Business Partner / Specialist assignments in Fortune 500 companies such as PepsiCo, IBM, Caesars Entertainment, L’Oreal USA, Altria and National Grid.  Throughout my career, I’ve managed teams within highly matrixed environments as an individual contributor, or have directly led global / regional teams of various sizes.

Outside of work, I enjoy coaching multiple youth sports teams, spending time with my family, traveling and being an avid sports fan, Go Yankees!  I am grateful for the support I have received from my wife, family, friends and various mentors throughout my personal and professional life.  I’m a native New Yorker and currently reside in Westchester County with my wife Frances and our two children, Xavier and Evangeline.

8:05 AM Transforming Pitney Bowes Learning & Development Organization

Pitney Bowes is in the midst of dramatic transformation from a B2B hardware-based mail equipment business to a B2B and B2C cloud-based Commerce business. While Pitney Bowes kept a focus on what they do best: global postage metering, they created their own Commerce Cloud, and leveraged experience in shipping to help other companies more efficiently ship, communicate, and pay. Part of this transformation included creating a completely new business unit to help online giants like eBay determine where an international package can be shipped, and how much duty will be charged.
Notably, the journey also required dramatic transformation of learning and development from being an inwardly focused “order taker” to truly running learning and development as a business. This pivot required major changes:
·         Establishing a new relationship approach where stakeholder relationship managers translate business strategy into impactful learning outcomes;
·         Implementing an outsourcing partnership with NIIT to both accelerate results and flex to accommodate the fast-moving pace of the transformation; and
·         Shifting into high gear execution
During this session, Kirk will share how he’s managed this complex transformation, share best practice learnings and answer your questions.
