Chantal Verbeek

Senior Vice President, Talent Scotiabank

Chantal Verbeek joined the Global Human Resources department at Scotiabank as Senior Vice-President in July 2018 in the capacity of HRBP overseeing all corporate functions of the bank. She focused on talent and leadership development, creating a high performing environment and enabling these functions to fully contribute in executing Scotiabank’s strategy.  Chantal was part of different management teams and partnered with local HR colleagues to ensure consistency, business relevance and execution of the global people agenda.

Since June 2019 Chantal was asked to move into the SVP Talent role, where she oversees leadership and learning from a global perspective and project and change management, specifically for the GHR COEs. 

Prior to joining Scotia, Chantal held various roles at ING in the Netherlands and USA including: Global HR Director COO, Chief of Staff for the Chief HR Officer, Head of HR for the Retirement Services and Head of Enterprise Talent.

Chantal holds an organizational and industrial psychology master’s degree from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and graduated cum laude in 1995. She also has a current Strategic HR Professional accreditation and a Certified Compensation Professional accreditation 

When not working, Chantal loves outdoors and to explore different cities and countries.  She is also a passionate runner.
