Day Two

11:00 AM Protecting your employees and company brand during employee layoffs

Shifting economic landscapes ofter result in organizations laying off employees in response to the challenges in the market, whether that is Covid related, global competition or advancements in technology. Erica believes, layoffs are a short term gain and rarely help leadership achieve their goals. Cost savings are over-shadowed by reputational risk, negative publicity, loss of employee expertise, less discretionary effort lowering innovation which then directly impacts profits.

During this economic downturn, Erica Briody, Former SVP, Global Talent Acquisition and Leadership Hiring at REEF will share how can we handle the changing workforce requirements to ensure that if layoffs happen, the process feels fair and that the impacted employees have a cushioned landing with focus on:

  • Protect your companies brand and reputation during layoffs
  • Actively assist employees to transition out of a company with dignity and respect
  • Re-engaging existing employees during times of transformation
