Girish Ganesan is a strategic leader credited with driving change and building best in class teams. A creative thinker with passion for innovation in improving organizational performance, he has international experience across multiple HR disciplines including Organizational Change and Transformation.
In his current role as Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion, he is responsible for overseeing development and implementation of all D&I strategies, tactics and programs to position TD Bank Group as an inclusive place of work and bank of choice for our customers, colleagues and communities we serve. Girish also continues to serve as the Head of Talent for TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank Convenient BankĀ® (AMCB). In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of TD AMCB's talent strategy and delivery including talent acquisition, learning and development, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, talent management, and diversity & inclusion. Prior to this role, Girish was the Vice President of Enterprise HR Solutions & Enablement for TD Bank Group, responsible for improving employee experience through automation, digitization and process optimization and embedding a client centric focus in HR for 90,000+ employees across multiple geographies. He had oversight for HR Business Solutions and Technology Investment Portfolio, Project and Change Management Office, Workforce Data & Analytics, and Vendor Management Strategy & Governance.
Prior to TD Bank, Girish was with Manulife where he held a variety of senior positions at both global and regional levels in Total Rewards, Shared Services, and HR Business Consulting. His last role of VP, Global HR Client Services at Manulife included leading a multifunctional HR shared services portfolio servicing 38,000+ employees across 15 countries.
Girish has worked in North America and Asia with exposure to over 50 jurisdictions across North America, Asia and Europe. During his career, he has led both generalist and specialist human resources functions in the financial services, high technology, retail and consulting fields. Prior to Manulife, Girish worked for other well-known multinationals including Accenture, Primus Telecommunications and Gap Inc.
An international professional, Girish was recently named one of 2019 Canada's Top 40 under 40 and has previously been recognized as the Top Future Leader by HR.com for three years in a row from 2016 to 2018 for outstanding work in corporate leadership. In addition, he was the recipient of Golden Globe Tiger Award for Excellence in HR Leadership in 2015 endorsed by World HRD Congress and Asian Confederation of Businesses and named HR Professional of the Year by Human Resources magazine in Singapore in 2013.
Born in New Delhi and educated in Canada and India, Girish has an honors degree in Political Science and Economics, and post-graduate education in Human Resources Management. He also holds the Canadian Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation and served as a Director on the HR Professional Associations' Board. He is a known leader among diverse communities, mentoring newcomers, internationally trained professionals and LGBTQ2+ community members.
