More than ever before, employees are looking for career autonomy. They want to choose the skills they'll learn, define the expertise they'll develop, and decide how much time they'll spend doing so. At the same time, learning organizations are continually challenged to deliver on the expectations of today while also enabling transformational development; preparing their companies with the skills of the future.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by these challenges? If the answer is yes, you are not alone.

But have no fear. You can drive this mindset shift! With the right strategies and use of modern engagement tools, you can enable employee-owned learning and career development and transform capability at your company. Your first step is shifting focus away from fighting the old to building the new.

Join us for a fireside chat with Ford Motor Company's Chief Learning Officer Melanie Davis, and self-proclaimed learning and talent nerd Sarah Petsis from Degreed, as they explore proven ways to inspire and enable mindset shifts that support the reinvention of talent development.

Learning takeaways for attendees include:

  • Understand the evolving relationship between talent and learning to meet employee career development and organizational needs simultaneously.
  • Identify ways your organization can enable employees to own their own learning and career mobility.
  • Explore practical ways to promote changes required to transform learning and talent culture.

Melanie Davis is the Chief Learning Officer at Ford, a lifelong learner, and a serial college dropout with a master's degree. While she is confident she prefers learning in-person, the time she spends listening to Audible books would suggest otherwise. Her proudest achievements include: Developing an escape room for a hundred people set in a galaxy far away to teach innovation, self-awareness, and inclusion. And convincing her husband that they needed at least two dogs. Melanie's purpose is to ensure people are equipped to become the best and most authentic version of themselves; it's that and a great cup of coffee that get her up in the morning.
