In Conclusion

As HR professionals continue to ponder potential changes in the new year, one thing is for sure:  look to your employees for guidance.  What are some of the things you are doing that elicits positive feedback?  What elicits negative feedback?  What are the items employees desire management to focus on with the specific intentions of improving compensation?  Improving culture?  What about training, development, and transparency?

You don’t have to fix everything.  Focus on one big ticket item for the new year.  Go through a rigorous learning process and come up with a solution to put into practice.  Then for 2019, review where you are on the item.  If you have more work to do, recommit to it and finish it up.  If you can, or if you’re ready to take on something new, find a new goal and improve there.  At the end of the day, your employees will appreciate it.  And don’t forget, the road to success is a long one.  Be prepared to take on the change for the long haul.
