Delivering an Engaging Learning Experience to a Hybrid Workforce

Wednesday, 27 October 2021 | Online (Singapore Time)

Covid-19 has accelerated digital transformation and resulted in the emergence of technology skills gap. Organisations need to help employees keep pace with technology and changing learner behaviour to ensure sustainable digital transformation.

For example, an enterprise of 2000+ employees uses 288 applications to get work done daily, and Mckinsey revealed that 90% of executives are currently dealing with skills gap. Forbes also highlighted that 70% of digital transformation projects fail due to employee resistance. ‘Change fatigue’ caused by ‘too much technology' is a factor contributing to resistance to change. People need to be empowered with the right tools and resources to embrace this change.

The need for reskilling and upskilling is more than ever. Donald H Taylor, L&D Global Sentiment Survey 2021 shows that ‘Reskilling/Upskilling is top of everyone’s agenda’. With a hybrid workforce, peer help is not going to be instant, query resolution takes longer. Learners expect training/learning to be instant, contextual, and experiential. ‘Learning at the moment of need’ needs to be the norm.

HR and learning professionals need to reimagine learning delivery to just in time, just enough, just for me, coupled with the 5 moments of need; Moment of Apply, Learn New, Learn More, Change and Solve!

On 27 October 2021, HR and learning professionals will gather and discuss:

• Identifying the emerging skills gap within your organisation and current approach in closing the skills gap
• Understanding how the adoption of software applications within the last 5-10 years might be contributing to employee’s resistance to change
• Ensuring employees with different levels of tech-savviness and learning capacities are trained to make the best use of available technology
• Discussing best practices to implement an effective training program to a global workforce, hybrid or otherwise
• Identifying the resources employee needs to embrace technology to make the best use of software applications that's meant to improve efficiency and productivity at the workplace
