The Business Case for DEI

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are top priorities for forward-thinking HR leaders and their employers. When people feel that they have equal opportunities and belong at a place, they shine. In the workplace, this leads to greater engagement and presumably higher retention.

Diverse teams allow for more perspectives, ingenuity, and relatability to a larger roster of customers. Yet, some executives still see DEI strategies as a public relations effort rather than a business imperative. Often, when resources dwindle, they are quick to shortchange DEI efforts.

That's why diversity leaders must continuously make the case for the hard work they do to help organizations represent the world outside their doors and help employees fit in and bring their whole selves to work.
