All four branches of the military have a very different HR system and strategy than the private sector. This includes areas that vary from recruitment to retention to dismissal. This isn’t a secret but it does have long term consequences on how the military does business and how the force structure shapes up over coming years which impacts readiness and ability to accomplish missions. It also may be costing the military its top talent.
