I need to get a pulse on this from an HR Group because my current situation puzzles me. I have not worked anywhere for a very long time that provides a half hour &quote;unpaid&quote; lunch. What is the practice for lunch breaks in a professional services type of organization - or basically salaried positions in any industry I guess. For a standard 9-5 pm workday - what is the norm for lunch - one hour or 1/2 hour? Staff can take an hour here if they are interested in extending their workday to 5:30 p.m.!
