One of our senior employees is planning to retire at the end of this month. It is the university's plan to hire her back as a "e;consultant"e; for the postion from which she is retiring. I believe I read somewhere that there had to be a one year break in employment before the former employee could be considered an independent contractor. Is this true, and if so, can you help me locate supporting documentation.
