As a VP, Human Resources for US Card, Christina McClung is persistently delivering against business goals and delivering new and innovative ways to bring game-changing talent to the company. Her mission is to “leave things better than she found them.” She currently leads HR and people initiatives for multiple Card businesses including Customer Experience, Channels, Mainstreet and Upmarket. She also oversees the Card Compensation team.
Revered as a strong and passionate leader, Christina is constantly inspiring her teams to go above and beyond for the associates that they work with and the talent that they are recruiting. Christina’s open and honest approach to every aspect of human resources reverberates through the entire department encouraging her teams to constantly strive for greatness and deliver outstanding results.
In her previous role, Christina was the Chief People Officer for Capital One, Canada. She was responsible for all HR functions during her time in Canada. In 2017, in addition to her role leading human resources, she took on the added responsibility as the Chief of Staff to the President in Canada. Previous to that role, she led the US and International Card Recruiting team which was responsible for hiring and delivering an exceptional candidate experience to the more than 3,000 associates hired annually. Christina joined Capital One in 2010.
Christina graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Management with a concentration in Human Resources. While at Virginia Tech, she founded “The Big Event” which is now the second largest student-run community service day in the United States.
Christina currently lives in Virginia with her husband, Aaron, and two boys, Asher and Isaac.
