The way organizations rank their employees’ potential is usually subjective and not based on observable actions/performance. Therefore, typical evaluations are not accurate depictions of the employees' true capabilities. This phenomenon along with the act that most employees leave their respective companies because of lack of development may also suggest that managers do not have a good grasp on the employees potential. If they had, maybe they could keep they interested in their work through effective development.
During this session, we will explore innovative ways to assess potential in order to get a clearer view of what your future workforce might look like. Through understanding the operational views of both performance and potential and their associated relationship, we may be able to devise a process that gives organizations greater insight to their employees potential. Examples and models will be shared through the following deliver method; Dr. Tom Tonkin, Principal, Advisory Services for Cornerstone OnDemand will walk you through:
• A brief overview of performance management
• How organizations rank employee potential today
• How to accurately identify, measure and manage employee potential
