Elizabeth Thompson is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Southeastern Grocers, parent company of BI-LO, Fresco y Más, Harveys and Winn-Dixie stores. Southeastern Grocers employs more than 50,000 associates who serve customers in grocery stores, liquor stores and in-store pharmacies throughout the seven southeastern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina. The company is based in Jacksonville, Florida.
In this role, Thompson is responsible for all aspects of Southeastern Grocers’ human resources strategy, driving culture, policies and programs, including talent acquisition, talent management, organizational development, training, leadership development, diversity platform, employee relations, compensation and benefits. Additionally, she oversees the company’s integrated communications strategy, including corporate brand management and charitable initiatives.
Thompson has an extensive operations and human resources background, including 12 years with Starbucks Coffee Co., where she played an integral role in driving business results and improving leadership capability. Her multidimensional expertise in both operations and human resources has helped companies transform by reinventing leadership styles to foster customer-centric cultures.
She provides human resources consulting as well as leadership and executive coaching services. She has a proven track record in supporting business growth by identifying solutions for process simplification and innovation, providing leaders with a framework and pathway to align systems and structure to drive strategy.
Thompson has a Business Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and is a Certified Professional Coach, Myers-Briggs, and Change Management practitioner.
