I am a specialist manager that does not have the same speciality as my direct manager and colleagues. As a result I am not given the same opportunities by participating in special projects or delegated responsibility even when it is something I have knowledge of or am capable of doing. I have asked to be given the same opportunities but have discovered that my manager says I have delegation for example and then tells all her counterparts to speak to someone else if they have questions, which I am not supposed to know about. Any thoughts of how to address this?
