HR has the opportunity to learn and lead when it comes to AI and ChatGPT is a good place to start.

ChatGPT is arguably the most commonly known generative AI platform. At a recent HR Exchange Network webinar with HireVue, the audience engaged in the live chat and everyone seemed to want to know the best ways to experiment and get started with ChatGPT. So, the resourceful HR Exchange Network community member Lev Minikes decided to interview ChatGPT on the spot. This is the conversation between Minikes and the advanced technology.

LM: Hi, how are you today? Today's question: How does someone learn to use AI, and Chat GPT specifically? Is there a good workable introduction algorythm for a novice?

ChatGPT: Hello! I'm doing well, thank you. I'm happy to help you understand how someone can learn to use AI, specifically Chat GPT. Here’s a step-by-step algorithm that can serve as a good introduction for a novice:

Introduction Algorithm for Learning to Use AI and Chat GPT

Step 1: Understand the Basics of AI

Learn About AI: Start with understanding what AI is and its various subfields. There are many free resources available online, including:

  • Online Courses: Platforms like Coursera, edX, and Khan Academy offer introductory courses on AI and machine learning.
  • Books: "Artificial Intelligence: A Guide for Thinking Humans" by Melanie Mitchell is a good starting point.
