I am an hourly paid employee - however when I took the position the owner of the company stated that he would like to pay me 75,000 broken down by the hour of 30.00 with one hour of OT a day @ 45.00(I live in CA where OT is based on the hours worked in a day and sometimes I work over 9 hours a day) Well now we are three pay periods left from the end of the year and I am at approx 74,985 - 15.00 dollars away from the 75,000. They have asked me not to work or have any OT for the remainder of the year. I thought that when you are hourly there is NO SUCH thing as a "e;cap"e; ... is this legal? Can my employer ask me to stop working? It seems that this company wants it both ways!!! By the way - I am a Director of Client Relations for large company - I should be on Salary.
