I have an employee that had to take a week off because her son had an emergency appendectomy. Because of this, she was unable to meet certain deadlines at work. She reached out to her manager to inform her that she was going to be late. The manager responded by staing it was the employees fault because she was absent. Now the employee feels guilty. What is the best way to handle this situation? Thanks.
