I work in California and was recently laid off. I received 2 months pay after the fact and I'll get a severance package on January 9th. It's still a few weeks before I'm officially unemployed and I hear they've already hired another person for the exact position I was. In laying me off I thought it meant they no longer needed that position. Are there legal ramifications for this?
