Each year we allow our employees to wear jeans on Fridays. This year our Marketing gal wants to do a pre pay at the beginning of the year for the entire year. In order to make it easier she has sent out a bulletin telling all staff that it will be assumed that they want to participate unless they each respond to her email/bulletin by a certain date stating that they want to opt out of participation. If they do not, then the $50 will be deducted from their payroll. I don't believe that this is allowable. Don't we need explicit permission from each employee authorizing the debit? Not silence implies approval? Thank you.
