We are located in KY with an employee working for us on a job site in OR. This employee with our assistance has officially left our company and began work for the company he was on site for with the agreement we can hire him for small jobs through his new company. He still has a company laptop, cell phone and some other highly sensitive and expensive equipment. We have sent him shipping labels to return all items, made repeated email and voice mail (he no longer answers our calls) requests for returns and have gotten no where. It was honestly a relief to get rid of him (he constantly had garnishment paperwork coming in, he had previously used his company CC for personal purchases which we allowed him to pay back over a several month period, the problems just go on and on). What are our options going forward in order to receive this property back? Is it legal while in conversation with his new boss for our VP to drop a comment about still needing company property returned? Or should we just cut our losses and be happy to be rid of him?
