We have found our city is going to lay off many non-union library employees in the next little while due to tax revenue shortfall and state funding cuts. What rights, if any, do we have (i.e. amount of notice given, age discrimination issues, COBRA, social security/unemployment process), and what do we need to do now to make sure it doesn't look like we were fired, or to make sure we have all our paperwork for unemployment benefits?
