Dear Sir/Madam: We are a relatively small family owned corporation for sales and service of a reputable Japanese medical equipment. We were appointed as the exclusive distributor. Therefore, compensation and benefits are exclusive from our principal. I am in the stage of revising the current incentive scheme which I see non-motivating at all. I am eyeing on what I used to have in my former company which is "e;variable compensation"e; which I see would be better. I would like to know if there are reading materials for me to use in designing the variable pay scheme. I used to know this in the past but I cannot recall how this was formulated. I will present this scheme to our management soon and probably may adopted company wide given the chance. We have an HR person who can handle this but I would like to recall for myself and get your side of this scheme. Thank you very much! A. de Guzman Manager for Service/Engineering PMSI-Toshiba
