Hello, I had an employee for 2.5 year and he was a good worker. his job was handling warehouse and deliveries. since 7-8 months ago he started to perform very poorly and he was completely changed in a very bad way. So many absenteeism and early leaving the job place to pick his kids from school and things like this. I had conversation with him about issues in numerous occasions, trying to help him understand he is work ethic is not acceptable. At any rate last week when he called sick again, i called him back and i stated that he needs to come and I want to have the exit interview whenever he feels better. He did not show up for few days and therefore I send him all the necessary paper works and his final pay stub. He also had a 2500 dollar balance from his loan which i waived. To my surprise I have received a very insulting email from him and CC to all other employee which uses a very bad language toward me and unfair statements. I need to know, considering the fact that he is not my employee anymore what is the best action that i need to take, if any. Thanks for your help. P.S. My business is in California.
