Our city is going to be permanently laying off library employees (non-union) because of high severely diminished tax base and decreased state funds. My question involves the VEBA funds that have been taken out of our paychecks (pre-tax) for 2 years now. I calculate it to be about $1000 worth by now. If we are laid off, can we get our individual VEBA contributions back?
