My husband has been working for a contractor at NASA and the contract ends at end of this month. My husband has been on sick leave, then short term disability and maybe he will need to be on long term disability. My question is: as the employer paid for short term disability, they sent him a letter stating that the short term disability will end at end of month with the end of the contract. My husband also has not been picked up by the new contract. My husband has always paid for long term disability. Does this mean that he will have to be laid off, or will the company still carry his short term disability and maybe long term disability or what is supposed to happen according to the law? Thank you for answering.
