And, according to Laura Handrick, VP of Innovation, the learning organization is constantly changing.

Reframing the core knowledge base and revamping the learning initiatives with e-learning, downloadable tools, job aides and support tools has been designed to be very turn-key for those taking advantage of the opportunities. By shifting from print and in-house training to Web-based game simulations, employees have become much more engaged, therefore leveraging the overall productivity of the organization.

To expand on the transformation, Maid’s International focused this past year on innovation opportunities and how they can improve the business via learning. Handrick said it was important to get the DNA of the organization all working toward the same goals, contribute and share knowledge and best practices company-wide.

However, no task comes without challenges. The major roadblock Handrick faced was obtaining adoption from the management team.
