Peter Drucker is known as The Father of Modern Management. Six years after his death, Drucker Societies have grown and flourish around the world. Bill Cohen was one of the fortunate few who learned from Drucker first-hand as the first PhD graduate of the Drucker’s practitioner-oriented doctoral program which Drucker co-founded at Claremont Graduate University. This began a friendship which lasted 30 years. Meanwhile Bill became an Air Force general, wrote more than 50 books published in 22 languages, including two books on Drucker. Today he is president of the new California Institute of Advanced Management which is an affiliate of the Peter Drucker Academies of China and he writes a monthly column "Lessons from Peter Drucker." His third Drucker book, soon to be published by McGraw-Hill, is Drucker on Marketing.
In this podcast, Cohen will discuss Drucker's methodology for looking at workforce productivity. He will also discuss the role of the manager and the knowledge worker in this new learning environment, including measuring the worker's progress, ensuring task completion and the distribution of responsibility between knowledge workers and managers.
