My company is having problems with the classification of exempt vs non-exempt. My company operates in the state of California and uses a PEO. The PEO is advising us that certain Sales Managers and certain Marketing managers should be classified as non-exempt. I see other companies that have sales managers and marketing managers classified as exempt. I want to know how other companies are able to classify their sales managers and marketing managers as exempt.
