Virtual training is gaining momentum, but only after leadership buy-in. That was the first challgenge facing Gretchen Stroud. She’s the Vice President of Global Talent and Learning for Hilton Worldwide.
When she first approached a member of leadership, she said the conversation went like this:
STROUD: “We need to move away from week-long instructor-led training programs in our hotels to a virtual learning journey that all of our general managers and sales leaders can go through.”
LEADERSHIP: “That's insane! We are hotel people and that's what we do is interact with other people.”
During her presentation to attendees at IQPC’s Chief Learning Officer Exchange, Stroud detailed how she addressed that myth. Once she succeeded in getting buy-in, she moved on to other challenges inherent to creating a new virtual training strategy. Find out how she addressed those challenges and the success they are now enjoying.
