At a time when few people seem able to agree on anything, 70% of more than 600 HR professionals, who responded to the State of HR 2023 survey, said they believe generative artificial intelligence (GAI) will significantly impact Human Resources in the next two to five years. The future has arrived, and HR professionals are greeting it with confidence and a heavy dose of skepticism. Despite recognizing the power GAI has already wielded, many people leaders still say that talent will remain the driving force of achievement at work. 

The results also reveal that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and career pathing are top priorities. Both of these data points suggest that many in HR are building employee-centered businesses. It's an exciting time because HR is charged with transforming people's work lives.
